Glossy Box Review - December 2014

I've been subscribed to GlossyBox since September 2014, and let me say the December box has to be my favorite so far!

What is GlossyBox?  It is beauty subscription service with monthly boxes curated with 5 high end products from different beauty brands (skincare, haircare, cosmetics etc.) that range from deluxe size to full size.  The products add up to way more than what you pay for, making it an ideal way to sample and try new products.  You can create a profile with preferences so that sometimes the products will be tailored to you.

The December 2014 box came with:

  • Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche
  • Spa Rituals Scrub in Ginseng & Ginko Biloda
  • Toni and Guy Leave in Conditioner
  • Bellapierré Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Burlesque
  • Ciaté mini paint pot in Yule Rules
All the products were the same for everyone- except the paint pots came in different colors for other people depending on their profile preferences.

Here's a quick review for each item:
1. Nuxe Masque Crème Fraîche- This is a deeply moisturizing facial lotion (not really a mask).  It smells like I'm rubbing a bouquet of orange blossoms all over my face (which I love)!  This is definitely a rich product that sinks into the skin to deeply nourish it. I find my skin is looking better already!
2. Spa Rituals Scrub in Ginseng & Ginko Biloda- An interesting product that smooths skin by exfoliating it.  The scent in exotic and refreshing.  I use this right before I use a hand lotion to make my hands super smooth.
3. Toni and Guy Leave in Conditioner- I don't heat dry/style my hair, but even so this is great for smoothing out hair.  This is suppose to be a prep product for heat styling, but even without a fancy blow dryer or flat iron, this helps my hair air dry nicely.
4. Bellapierré Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Burlesque- I love this color!  It's a bright pink, a cross between a magenta and hot pink (kind of).  This is something I would picture a bejeweled show girl wearing at a night club, but this isn't just for showgirls.  This adds a bright pop of color to any casual outfit.  The texture is smooth and the product lasts pretty long.
5. Ciaté mini paint pot in Yule Rules-  I was not fond of this, but to be fair I don't like sparkly nail polish.  This was a topcoat with blue sparkles.  Like other sparkly nail polishes, this was a pain in the butt to take off with polish remover.  It required hard scrubbing and resulted in cotton fiber getting stuck everywhere!

Overall, there were great products in the December box and they definitely added up to way above the $21 monthly price.
